Why undertake a Bachelor of Theology?
The Bachelor of Theology is an in-depth course of study that will provide you with the skills to understand the Bible, Christian Thought, and Traditions. It will also provide you will skills in self-reflection, synthesisation of theological knowledge, and discernment, and will help you to understand other faiths. This knowledge and understanding is extremely important in the multi-cultural society of today where the media is full of complex international relations and the threat of terrorism.

How long will I be studying for?
3 years full time or up to 9 years part time. Max time allowed = 9 years. Full time is usually two to three units per trimester, part time is one or two.

I've done previous study in Theology, what should I do?
You could be eligible for credit, but this is capped at 16 units depending on the study you’ve completed. Have a chat to our registrar about applying for this.
I want to complete more study after my Bachelor of Theology, what should I do?
This depends on where you want to go in your career. Have a chat with our Registrar if this is something that you’d like to consider doing. It is possible to continue your studies in one of our postgraduate awards.
*Please note that a focus on Pastoral Counselling or Clinical Practice in your degree does not accredit you to be a counsellor. It is designed to give you extra skills in Christian/Pastoral Counselling which will enhance previous or future qualifications in Counselling.
