The Christian faith is certainly excellent for spiritual health, but is it also good for general health and wellbeing? There are now about 3000 empirical studies by leading health researchers that suggest that it is. This research is showing that on average religious persons have better mental and physical outcomes than the non-religious population. Doctors are increasingly becoming aware of this research and responding by offering spiritual care. This may sound just fantastic. Still, Dr. Pembroke will make a theological argument that there is a right way and a wrong way for health care professionals to go about spiritual care.
