NTC is pleased to announce that Rev Dr Joseph Wood has been selected as our new principal, to commence in January 2024. With eleven years’ experience, he brings a rich background in theological education, church service, and a passion for innovation.
Joseph, of course, is no stranger to NTC, having served as Dean of Students and Senior Lecturer in Theology and Church History since July 2021. He says, “Over the past two years I have come to know and love the college, her students, and the Church she serves in this part of the world. It has been a joy to get to know the diversity of cultures and peoples represented here, and to experience the warm welcome my family has received from the college and wider Church of the Nazarene community.”
The Board of Trustees elected Joseph as NTC’s ninth principal, succeeding Rob Fringer in the role. Current Chair of the Board, Roland Hearn, commented, “It is truly wonderful, after a long search process, to see Joseph accept this nomination.”
Joseph and his wife, Rev Kat Wood, have two children: Evelyn (11) and Miriam (8). In addition to teaching and research, he is the host of We Are NTC, a Spotify podcast. He enjoys mountain biking, walking outdoors, supporting the Brisbane Bullets, good food, and meeting new people.
